Announcement: Martial Law Commemoration Events in Baguio City

In commemoration of the 38th anniversary of  the declaration of Martial Law, there will be  a screening of the movie SIGWA by award-winning director Joel Lamangan, which is co-written by award-winning screenwriter Bonifacio Ilagan.

The film is a historical piece that follows the lives of four friends during the period of the First Quarter Storm, the declaration of Martial Law and the years that followed. The  film is produced by Beginnings  at Twenty Plus and was screened by sell-out crowds during the 6th Cinemalaya film festival. Because  of its superb quality, the film was rated “A” by the Cinema Evaluation Board.

In Baguui City, the screeinings will be on September 18 and 19, at 3 PM at the Saint Louis Center Social Hall. Assumption Road. Included in its first screening is a short program to honor Martial Law activists. Movie tickets are sold at PhP100. Queries and reservations may be  coursed through mobile number 09189199007. On these dates, we also commemorate the 731st day of enforced disappearance of James Balao. Thus, the activities will serve in the continuing call to Surface James. A photo exhibit of James’ work will be displayed at the venue. #
